Terms of Service

Last updated: May 15, 2026

Welcome to Routr. These terms describe the agreement between you and Ian Kiprotich ("we," "us") when you use the Routr iOS app ("the app"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What the app is

Routr is a tool for designing flag football plays, organizing them into folders, and sharing play diagrams with others through your device's share features. It is provided for personal, coaching, and team use.

What you can do

You may use the app to create, edit, organize, and share flag football plays for any lawful purpose, including coaching teams, teaching the sport, and personal practice. The plays you create belong to you. We claim no ownership of the content you draw or the names you give to plays and folders.

What you should not do

When using the app, please do not:

Purchases and Pro features

The app may offer optional in-app purchases (for example, "Routr Pro") that unlock additional features. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple's standard terms. By making a purchase, you also agree to Apple's terms.

Updates and changes to the app

We may release updates to the app to add features, fix bugs, or maintain compatibility with new versions of iOS. Some updates may be required to keep using certain features. We may also change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will avoid removing features users have paid for; if a paid feature is removed, we will offer a reasonable remedy.

Your data

Your plays and folders are stored on your device, and optionally in your own iCloud, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for backing up data that is important to you. While the app is built carefully, we cannot guarantee that data will never be lost due to device failure, software issues, or your own actions (such as deleting the app or signing out of iCloud).

Intellectual property

The app's name "Routr," its icon, its visual design, and its source code are owned by Ian Kiprotich and protected by copyright and other laws. These terms do not grant you any right to use those marks or that code outside of using the app as intended.

Plays you create using the app belong to you. Sharing a play image with others is your decision and at your discretion.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any defects will be corrected.

Flag football play designs created with this app are intended for instructional and recreational use. We make no representation that any particular play complies with the rules of any specific league or competition. It is your responsibility to ensure that plays comply with the rules under which your team plays.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the app will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us for the app or its in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) ten US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app or specific features if you violate these terms or use the app in a way that causes us legal or technical problems.

Apple-specific terms

The following applies because the app is distributed through Apple's App Store:

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in a jurisdiction whose consumer-protection laws give you stronger rights, those rights still apply. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Nairobi, Kenya, except where local law requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change, and a notice will appear in the app's Settings before significant changes take effect. Continuing to use the app after the changes means you accept the new terms.
